The Girl Behind the Veil
The girl behind the veil, my debut poetry collection was born in the period of becoming. It was written and compiled during an 8 month period of unemployment while awaiting placement after completing both my nursing and medical degrees. It is more than an expression, its survival, reflection and transformation.
It features 17 poems woven through themes of identity, pain, loss and love. Each piece echoes lived experiences.
They touch species that are familiar to most but perhaps where most struggle to articulate. The poems don’t just tell a story, they heal, encourage and affirm.
