Identify Beyond the Noise
There comes a point where you begin to realise that identity cannot be built on opinions, achievements, or approval of people who only see and understand fragments of you.
You soon begin to realise that people will always have something to say.
Too emotional. Too ambitious. Too quiet. Too independent. Too much. Not enough. The list is endless.
Criticism often has a way of making you question yourself, if you are not deeply rooted and grounded in something greater than human perception. And for a long time, I think many of us try to survive by shrinking ourselves into versions that feel easier for people to accept.
Because lets face it, going with the flow is always easier than swimming against the tide.
But identity was never meant to be negotiated at the feet of public opinion.
It is something precious. Ordained. Reverent.
Something shaped quietly between you and God.
I think prayer changes the way you see yourself. Not because it magically removes insecurities or uncertainty but it reminds you that your worth existed long before the world formed opinions about you. In prayer, you return to the truth of who you are beneath the performance, the fear, the comparison.
And from that place, confidence grows differently. I actually like to call it “Godfidence”.

The confidence may not be loud. It is definitely not arrogant. But a quiet assurance that comes from knowing you are divinely guided, even when grossly misunderstood.
There is strength in continuing despite criticism. Strength in remaining soft when the world attempts to harden you. Strength is choosing purpose over approval.
Determination is not always loud ambition. Sometimes it is simply waking up everyday and refusing to abandon yourself. Refusing to betray what God placed within you, simply because it makes other people uncomfortable.
Identity is not found in being molded into what people expect you to be.
It is found in becoming honest enough to stand fully in who you already are.
Deeply flawed. Constantly growing. Unrelenting. Fervently praying. Determined.
And still ever so worthy.
